She later established Sorivera Strategies, focused on small business development, construction, and community infrastructure projects. She also serves as a managing partner at Republic Right Solutions and Voters Voice, providing statewide political education, and as a principal consultant, equipping candidates with strategies to win campaigns. Sonia Rivera brings practical, results-driven leadership grounded in faith, family, and service. She is ready to deliver real solutions, protect Houston neighborhoods, and ensure the city continues to thrive for generations to come.

Sonia Rivera is a staunch defender of law enforcement and a proven advocate for safer communities. Since 2018, she has volunteered with local law enforcement agencies, building stronger, more effective communication between police officers and the communities they serve. She understands that crime doesn’t discriminate; it affects families in every neighborhood, regardless of background or income.
With years of experience working alongside local, county, and state officials as well as leaders at the federal level, Sonia has seen firsthand how failed policies weaken public safety and erode trust. She is committed to reversing these failures by championing solutions that support law enforcement, strengthen accountability, and ensure officers have the tools they need to keep our neighborhoods secure.
Sonia Rivera knows that when communities and police work together, everyone is safer. That’s why she vows to continue standing shoulder-to-shoulder with law enforcement and Houston families to protect lives, defend property, and restore peace of mind across our city.

Sonia Rivera is the leader Houston needs: rooted in community, guided by common sense. She doesn’t just promise change, she has a proven record of building it.
Sonia Rivera knows strong communities start with safe homes and reliable infrastructure. She’s lived Houston’s housing struggles and flooding crises, and she’s spent decades delivering real solutions.
Sonia helped launch EMLI Mesa Gardens, a landmark project that will provide secure, affordable housing for 300 Houston families upon completion in 2026. She also led nearly $1 million in beautification projects across Greater East Houston, strengthening neighborhoods, boosting the local economy, and restoring community pride.
Her approach is simple: empower people, not bureaucracy. Sonia believes government should cut red tape, speed up permitting, and remove barriers that make housing unaffordable. By partnering with private and nonprofit groups, she will expand housing choices, protect property rights, and keep taxes low.
On infrastructure, Sonia is focused on smart investments in roads, drainage, and flood control. Houston cannot grow with broken systems and outdated planning. Sonia will prioritize solutions that protect families and property without waste, politics, or gimmicks.
She doesn’t just talk about progress, she delivers it. Sonia’s record demonstrates that she can achieve results that improve lives.

Sonia Rivera believes Houston’s greatest strength is its people, the entrepreneurs, workers, and families who keep our city moving forward. For nearly three decades, she has worked alongside Houstonians to expand access to opportunity and strengthen local communities.
Sonia knows that a thriving economy isn’t built by government handouts, but by creating the conditions where businesses can grow, jobs can flourish, and families can build stability. That’s why she has focused on projects that not only uplift neighborhoods but also spark economic growth. Sonia has a proven record of pairing community improvements with economic revitalization.
She believes in reducing red tape for small businesses, keeping taxes low for working families, and making Houston a place where innovation and hard work are rewarded. Sonia will push for stronger workforce training programs, partnerships with local industry, and pathways that give young people and displaced workers real skills for long-term success.
Her goal is simple: make Houston a city where everyone, whether a small business owner, tradesman, or working parent, has the chance to prosper. Sonia Rivera doesn’t just talk about opportunity, she builds it.
